

As a fat burning workout P90x is okay. You will definitely experience results if:
- You follow the workout plan. (1 hour per day for 90 days consistently)
- Eat a sensible diet (even better results according to P90x if you purchase their pre-workout and post workout shakes)
So what's wrong with the two above?
That's right. It's the same two arguments for most exercise regimens. Let's examine the two:
1) Follow workout plan - Any workout plan from walking to moderate intensity to Crossfit competition type of workouts will burn calories (during and after the workout even while you're resting).
Now burned calories will translate into fat burning only if you actually create a net deficit of calories (calories burned > calories consumed) consistently over time which leads us to...
2) Sensible diet - doesn't matter how intense your exercise is. If you're consuming more calories than you can burn, then you're still on a calorie surplus which means you are storing fat. Simple. It doesn't matter whether it is P90x part 1 or part 2. Intensity levels are no match for rapid food intake.
This leads me to the next thing... if P90x is just like other workout programs out there...then what is a better alternative?

Remember that P90x's main target is the mass market crowd. They're selling this to as many people as they can! When you're trying to lose weight and get a better beach ready body, the last thing you want is to follow what everyone does (which leads to very little success!).
A normal program masquerading as product very-intense X is for normal people. By actually researching an alternative to P90x, you're already past the 99% who are satisfied with getting so-so results and I know you want results with real visual impact.

I stumbled upon this workout program over at Youtube by accident. I woke up late and was running late for work but I really did not want to skip a workout so I went on youtube and searched for quick and intense workouts that I could do. I chanced upon a workout called M100 which is part of a program called Six Pack Shortcuts and goes like this:

Mountain Climber -- 10 reps (counting 1-2-3-ONE-1-2-3-TWO)

and that's it. But I was floored with the intensity. I was breathing harder than ever and I just had to stop a while to catch my breath before heading to the showers. That's just the free stuff I found on Youtube.
